SONG WRITING CONTEST

Sagada Rythms in cooperation with the Local Government Unit of Sagada and Montanosa Research and Development Center (MRDC) invites all interested song writer-performers (18 years old and above and a bona fide Sagadian/resident of Sagada for at least one year) to participate in the Song-Writing Contest on December 29, 2010. The activity forms part of the Music-Arts fest on January 29 to February 2, 2011 in conjunction with the celebration of the Sagada Town Fiesta next year. Please be guided with the following:

1. Only one entry per participant is allowed: either Solo, Choral, or Band.

2. All entries shall be accompanied by any instrument except for the Choral category which shall not allow electric guitars for accompaniment.

3. Theme of the contest shall focus on environmental protection, indigenous peoples rights, and culture.

4. Submit your entries on or before December 20 at the Sangguniang Bayan office or at Yani’s Bar, Gagab-an Ambasing. Registration forms are available at the SB Office or at Yani’s Bar. For further details, please refer to Memra at Yani’s Bar.

Prizes shall be awarded during the Sagada Town Fiesta celebration on February 2011.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: There shall be a songwriting workshop on November 21,2010 at the Coffee House below the Gasoline Station, Nangonogan, Sagada, 9:00 o'clock AM. Everyone interested is invited. Registration Fee: P20.00
